10x10KCuba winners announced
Miami, October 11th, 2016 - The Cuba Emprende Foundation, #CubaNow, CIC Miami, Startup Angels and Mano Americas today announced the winners of 10x10KCuba, a contest to select ten of the most promising tech-enabled businesses in Cuba.
The contest drew 88 applications from Cuban entrepreneurs based in 12 of the Island’s 15 provinces.The ten selected businesses are concentrated in mobile applications for tourism, dining, lodging and cultural services, but also include e-commerce, employment, real estate rental and customized messaging platforms.
“10x10KCuba seeks to help talented programmers and entrepreneurs in Cuba integrate themselves into the startup community in the Americas, and to provide them with the resources and networks to support the growth of their businesses,” said John McIntire, Chairman of Cuba Emprende Foundation.
Co-organizer and Executive Director of #CubaNow, Ric Herrero added, “the winning entrepreneurs have the talent to succeed in any tech company in the world, and we couldn’t be prouder of their commitment to growing the startup community in Cuba.”
10x10kCuba is an unprecedented collaboration among leaders at the forefront of Cuba’s growth and development in the entrepreneurial space.
