UCI migrates to Nova 5.0

In the coming days UCI will be settling the last details before launching their migration to the new version of Nova 5.0. Final touches to different tools and procedures that will support the whole process are being reviewed by their Committee of Migration to Free Software.

The importance of migrating to free software has been raised as a key topic in Cuba for some time now and achieving technological independence seems to be a focus for the IT professionals in the island. It is listed amongst the strategies being developed by the government and the different IT entities to accomplishing the so called “Informatization of the Cuban Society”

In the coming months the system, Nova 5.0 will also be installed in other Ministries and organizations all along the country.
